Some random news bites:
-Jewish population growing faster in Germany than in Israel. Can you say "Ironic"?
-US unemployment rate now highest in 9 years. The finger-pointing on this one oughta be deafening...
-Hamas official blows off truce talks. Waitaminute...this is Hamas we are talking about here, a terrorist group, why is anyone engaging in "talks" with these people in the first place? The palestinians need to crack down on these morons before they screw up their chances again, if they don't like it that's just too damn bad.
-Ashcroft attempting to get even more power from "Patriot Act" Damn, he just can't wait, can he? There wasn't even much explanation of the 1st "patriot act" (calling it this was an insult), and here we are watching Ashcroft yell for it to be expanded. Could someone start a drive to have this nutter removed?
To mark the changing of the FCC rules concerning media ownership (which I personally feel are a moot point: they've been garbage for this long, obviously the rules aren't accomplishing anything), I now give you..."Why I hate the media":
"-the deliberate spinning of anything with a political angle to support expansion of government power.
-biased event reporting: ever notice that when some stereotypically "cute" rich white kid gets kidnapped it's all over the place? I wonder how many other less marketable children were sliced into little pieces while everyone and their mama were fawning over Elizabeth Smart...
-"if it bleeds, it leads", nuff said.
-the transformation into acceptable "news" the personal lives of random celebrities. I challenge these vapid morons to give me ONE reason to give a sh*t who some movie star is married to for the week.
-news shows becoming more entertainment than information. I swear, if I see one more news show that looks indistinguishable from "sportscenter" I'm going to f**king hijack a bus.
-debate/news analysis programs that amount to nothing more than screaming. Look, if you aren't going to discuss this sh*t as if the audience has brain function above that of roadkill then don't do a f**king debate show, go stand in a corner and slowly f**k yourself to death with a wrench.
-f**king imbecile talking heads that feel the need to interject little unfunny quips inbetween "hard" stories. Must I go to the f**king station and crack that giggling b*tch's head open to prove there's nothing inside?
-self-referential media stories that amount to attack ads against their competitors. Could the crackheads at FoxNews have acted with any more glee when the Jason Blair thing broke? F**k, at least ACT like the association isn't there.
-the emphasis on fancy-ass graphics to make up for lack of actual content. Whoever does the graphics for Fox/CNN/MSNBC needs a face fulla battery acid, that sh*t ain't cute.
-taking the official line of the administration and running with it w/o fact-checking their asses. F**king hell, you are supposed to be our watchdog, not their whore, get the hand outta your asses and do your f**king jobs for once. Speaking of which...
-does anyone actually ask hard questions at those damn press conferences anymore? Must everything be a f**king softball? Which reminds me...
-STOP F**KING REFFERING TO SPORTS STARS AS "HEROES", THAT IS F**KING DEGRADING! WHO'S F**KING LIFE DID THEY SAVE BY TOSSING AROUND A GODDAMN BALL???? And who gives a f**k what some little kid thinks of Sosa now? The time wasted covering sports as if it were more than mere distraction could've been taken to, oh, I dunno, mention that the media ownership rules changed? Or that there's city & state legislatures openly expressing their disgust with the patriot act? Stop f**king pacifying us!"
Any questions?
