It won't fly, but...

Remember when the airline industry got those government bailouts? They swore up and down "we will not be able to survive without them", and our politicians obliged (whether out of sympathy or for future political purposes, I do not know).

Now they're on the verge of declaring bankruptcy anyway. Question: since the "stimulus" didn't work, shouldn't Joe Taxpayer be able to cut in front of the other creditors in line? Seeing as how we were in the unique position of having been forced to give them that money at gunpoint instead of voluntarily, I'd say we should get our money back.

Wow, what a long vacation...

Here's some news to start off with:

-Dubya is cleaning house. Good, it needs cleaning. Although I wonder who's getting the jobs...
-A software company in Massachusets is linked to al-quaeda. And no, it is not called "Jihadsoft" (damn...).
-Possible vote-tampering in South Dakota? I wouldn't be particularly surprised if it's the case. You never can tell with politicians. Sometimes I have days where I contemplate if maybe we should push for a new law allowing us to do a ritual killing of one congressman per term just to remind the others of who's in charge...and then I go fix coffee.
